The Shandong Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government recently issued the "Plan for Ecological Protection and High-quality Development of the Yellow River Basin in Shandong Province" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), proposing to build a cultural tourism corridor of the Yellow River and optimize the layout of cultural tourism.

The "Plan" proposes to jointly build a platform for the cooperation and development of the Yellow River Basin, deepen cooperation in cultural heritage protection, tourism resource development, tourism brand building and other fields, implement the Yellow River wetland protection and ecotourism development plan, promote the construction of the "Old Yellow River" eco-cultural tourism cooperation zone, and jointly launch high-quality tourism products such as historical and cultural tours, natural ecological tours, and research experience tours, and jointly carry out the Yellow River tourism festival activities and the marketing and promotion of characteristic tourism destinations. Promote the exchange and mutual learning of world civilizations, hold the Yellow River Cultural Tourism Festival and other festivals well; build the "Hometown of Confucius, Hospitality Shandong" brand of foreign cultural tourism exchanges.

The "Plan" also proposes to implement the protection and utilization projects of historical and cultural cities, ancient towns and ancient villages, further integrate the world heritage resources of Confucius Family Mansion, Temple and Cemetery in Qufu, Mount Tai, the Grand Canal, and the Great Wall of Qi, and create a world cultural heritage tourism route. Give full play to the resource advantages of springs and city cultural landscapes, implement projects such as the quality improvement of Jinan ancient city and the cultivation of guesthouses in the Yellow River Basin, and build characteristic cultural tourism projects such as the Water Margin Hometown Tourist Area and Dayu Cultural Park. Explore the history, deeds and spirit of the red revolution, implement the project of protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics along the Yellow River, and create high-quality tourist routes such as red revolution research, cultural experience, and rural roaming. Develop characteristic eco-tourism, create a national eco-tourism demonstration area, cultivate tourism products on the old Yellow River, build a national-level research and study tourism base in the Yellow River Delta, and create a brand of "Yellow River into the sea".
