Recently, the 300 MW offshore wind power integration pilot and demonstration project (Shandong Changyi Offshore Wind Power Project) between Shandong Changyi Marine Ranch and China Three Gorges Renewables (Group) Co., Ltd. (CTGR) has got into full swing as the third wind turbine was lifted in place, speeding toward the goal of full-capacity grid-connected power generation at the end of this year.
With a total investment of about 3.6 billion yuan and a total installed capacity of 300MW, funded by CTGR Shandong, the project involves the construction of 50 6MW wind turbines and a 220kV offshore booster station. It will create more than 1,500 jobs for about 1,200 locals. After being completed and put into operation, it will generate 940 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, replace 290,000 tons of standard coal and reduce 790,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
