Weifang is deepening its “getting one thing done efficiently” government service reform, pushing approval services to be faster and more effective. From January to September this year, the city handled more than 21 million government service cases, with a 100% on-time completion rate and public satisfaction steady above 99%. The city has integrated matters requiring joint handling by multiple departments, cut materials and steps, and rolled out a batch of distinctive “getting one thing done efficiently” scenarios. Several scenario cases were selected as provincial innovation practices. Backed by digital transformation, Weifang has developed a national pilot program for “cloud services with zero face-to-face meetings,” launched a government AI agent, introduced “smart review and fast processing,” and carried out government cloud livestreams. It has also rolled out people-friendly services — assisted handling, extended appointments and green channels — to ease time-related pain points for residents. In parallel, it has established project stewardship teams and launched industrial-chain approval reform under the “getting one thing done efficiently” initiative. This aims to speed up the delivery of key projects and shift government services toward a more proactive model that actively supports project implementation.
