Recently, the Shandong Administration for Market Regulation, in collaboration with the Education Department of Shandong Province and the Shandong Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau, held a promotional and matchmaking event on the full-chain digital traceability of edible livestock and poultry products at the Jiqing·Xianglimen Meat and Aquatic Product Trading Center in Shandong. The event aimed to support the implementation and promotion of the meat product traceability system. Approximately 60 people attended the event, including staff from relevant provincial, municipal, and county authorities, deputies to people's congresses, CPPCC members, representatives from universities, and operators of slaughterhouses and markets.
At the event, representatives from relevant departments explained the practical applications of two major platforms, "Lumuyun" and "Shandong Food Chain," as well as the traceability and regulatory requirements involved, while the market operator provided an overview of its operations. Participants observed firsthand the results of standardized market management and merchants' practices of displaying QR codes for sales. Brand presentations and specialty product promotions were also held.
As part of the 2026 Food Safety Awareness Week series of events, this event combined presentations, demonstrations, and product promotions to raise public awareness of livestock and poultry product traceability. It aimed to strengthen business operators' primary responsibility, guide consumers to trace products via QR codes, and continuously drive quality and efficiency improvements across the province's full-chain traceability system for edible livestock and poultry products.
