On the afternoon of October 9, Qingdao hosted a promotion conference for opening up ecological and environmental governance scenarios. During the event, the city released its first list of open governance scenarios, establishing a collaborative matchmaking platform uniting government, industry, academia, research, finance, services, and end-users, and bridging governance challenges with environmental technologies and green capital.

Featuring two comprehensive scenarios and eight specific use cases, the event focused on the atmospheric, marine, and solid waste sectors. It translated environmental pain points into quantifiable, actionable technical tasks, addressing industrial green retrofitting demands such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) treatment in the rubber industry and the resource utilization of industrial solid waste. Universities and research institutes, including Shandong University and the Ocean University of China, conducted technology roadshows to showcase innovations in areas such as environmental big data and solid-waste cementitious materials. Several banks promoted green financial products, including carbon emission allowance pledges, channeling vital financial liquidity into environmental projects and leading to several preliminary agreements reached on-site.

Looking ahead, Qingdao will continue to open up diverse application scenarios for ecological governance. By exploring new models that integrate open scenarios, technology implementation, and financial backing, the city aims to create a "Qingdao Model" of ecological protection that underpins high-quality development.
