Binzhou Customs House Boosts Cotton Imports and Empowers Textile Industry

Recently, Binzhou Customs House moved to optimize customs supervision and services for imported cotton, responding to the development needs of the textile industry in its jurisdiction. The aim is to stabilize the textile industry chain and supply chain while improving clearance efficiency and safeguarding raw material quality. The customs house has taken a proactive approach, reaching out to businesses with policy briefings and operational guidance. It has also fully implemented convenience measures such as "advance declaration" and "appointment-based inspection," effectively shortening inspection waiting times and lowering warehousing and logistics costs. At the same time, it has deployed smart supervision tools, including intelligent weight verification and remote tare weighing, to enable "zero-wait" cargo weighing and sharply improve clearance efficiency. The customs house has further leveraged its specialized testing laboratory for imported cotton to strictly control quality. It has helped companies pursue 1.746 million yuan in foreign claims, effectively protecting their legitimate rights and interests. From January to August this year, Binzhou Customs House supervised imported cotton worth 240 million yuan. Cotton imports in its jurisdiction have grown steadily, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of the textile industry.
