Jinan Leverages Competitions as Bridges to Drive the Industrialization of Quantum Technology

On September 7, the 9th China (Jinan) New Growth Drivers Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest - Quantum Technology Track Awards Ceremony was held, marking the first time the competition established a dedicated quantum track. The track solicited project submissions in four major fields—quantum communication, quantum computing, quantum precision measurement, and quantum-enabling technologies—and selected 6 winning projects. At the event, 3 Jinan "Ambassadors for Investment and Talent Attraction" were appointed, and preparations for establishing the Quantum Technology Specialized Committee under the China Inspection and Testing Society were launched, completing the entire value chain of R&D, standards, and testing in the quantum industry.

Shandong has incorporated quantum technology into its "8+X" future industry innovation system, supporting Jinan as a core carrying hub. Leveraging platforms such as the Jinan Base of the National Laboratory and the Jinan Institute of Quantum Technology, Jinan has gathered more than 30 quantum-related enterprises, establishing a complete industrial ecosystem from core materials and devices to terminal products, with multiple application scenarios implemented. Moving forward, Jinan will promote the industrialization of competition projects, deepen scientific research collaboration, expand application scenarios, and build a major domestic hub for quantum technology R&D and industrial clustering.
