Recently, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province issued a public call for comments on the Action Plan for High-Quality Development of the Next-Generation Information Technology Industry in Shandong Province (2026–2030). During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Shandong's next-generation information technology industry achieved rapid growth, with revenues from the electronic information manufacturing and software industries increasing significantly, leading the nation in fields such as virtual reality and advanced computing.
According to the plan, by 2030, Shandong will foster more than 10 leading enterprises with international influence and achieve breakthroughs in over 100 key core technologies. The plan outlines ten key initiatives, focusing on sectors such as integrated circuits, high-end software, artificial intelligence, and new batteries, and sets targets such as achieving an industrial scale of approximately 200 billion yuan for both the integrated circuits and new battery industries.
In terms of industrial layout, Shandong will strengthen the "dual-core" leadership of Jinan and Qingdao, promote coordinated development along the "two corridors" of the coast and the Qingdao-Jinan Railway, and drive northwestern and southwestern Shandong to create emerging growth poles. Additionally, Shandong will intensify efforts in core technological breakthroughs and the cultivation of market entities, advance 1,000 key projects, implement the "Lithium in Shandong" initiative, deepen the application of "AI+" to empower various industries, and pool efforts to build an important national growth pole for the next-generation information technology industry.
