Digital Platforms Revolutionize Land-Sea Logistics Efficiency in Shandong

Leveraging its robust port and transportation infrastructure, Shandong has built a supply chain service platform and opened multimodal transport corridors. These efforts empower key industrial chains to cut costs and boost efficiency while enhancing the overall resilience of the industrial and supply chains.

For the paper industry, local authorities have optimized the Russia-Xi'an-Shandong Ports-Southeast Asia transshipment route and introduced an innovative "single-document" service, effectively slashing transit times and logistics costs. Co-developed by the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and Shandong Port Group, the Land-Sea Link Industrial Supply Chain Comprehensive Service Platform has attracted over 500,000 registered enterprises since its launch. The platform covers 13 flagship industrial chains and has driven an average cost reduction of more than 15%.

Shandong has also launched specialized platforms tailored to specific industries. AutoLink supports the global expansion of automakers like Sinotruk, facilitating key export projects; i-Cis and two other major platforms tackle safety and compliance challenges in the cross-border transport of hazardous chemicals; and Paper-Ex offers the paper industry comprehensive services across the forestry, pulp, and paper supply chain.

Meanwhile, Shandong has streamlined two-way cross-border and interprovincial channels to secure the supply of bulk raw materials like crude oil, with its ports ranking among the nation's top destinations for crude oil arrivals. Furthermore, the province has cultivated distinctive shipping brands and leveraged its financial sector to provide over 20 billion yuan in financing to small and medium-sized enterprises, utilizing modern logistics to inject new growth momentum into the real economy.
