In recent years, Chiping District in Liaocheng has experienced shifts from chasing output to competing on technology and from extensive processing to precision smart manufacturing, paving a new path in the aluminum industry's transformation and upgrading, driven by the twin engines of green, low-carbon development and precision smart manufacturing. In 2024, its green functional aluminum industry cluster was selected as one of Shandong Province's top ten "flying geese" industrial clusters and a provincial-level characteristic industrial cluster for SMEs. Following this, the district's aluminum functional components industry cluster was once again recognized as a national-level characteristic industrial cluster for SMEs in 2025, thereby establishing a dual-cluster structure characterized by green, low-carbon development and precision smart manufacturing. In 2025, the cumulative output value of the district's aluminum and aluminum processing industries reached 95.19 billion yuan, with profits up 29.2% year-over-year. During H1 2026, aluminum enterprises above designated size in the region achieved an output value of 52.49 billion yuan, an increase of 11.1% year-over-year.
Today, the aluminum industry in Chiping District is firmly holding onto the two key drivers of integrated development and green smart manufacturing. By focusing on supplementing, strengthening, and extending the industrial chain, the district is making a full-scale push toward building a 100-billion-yuan-level aluminum industrial cluster. The aim is to gradually establish a modern aluminum industrial system with distinct regional characteristics and international competitiveness.
