Daiyue District, Tai'an: Turning Event Traffic into Economic Growth

Recently, the qualifying round for the Comprehensive Division of the 2025-2026 National Youth Space Innovation Competition was held in Daiyue District, Tai'an. The competition attracted 3,477 teams and over 5,400 young sci-tech innovation contestants, with the number of out-of-province participants increasing sixfold compared to last year.

Daiyue District aligned the event's organization with consumption-boosting initiatives, incorporating consumption incentives into the event's logistics to achieve the overarching goal of "hosting a successful event to energize the whole city". During the event, hotel occupancy rates around the venue saw a general increase, generating over 3 million yuan in consumer spending across nearby cultural and tourism blocks and shopping malls.

By adhering to the philosophy of "promoting tourism through events and highlighting culture through tourism", the district has fostered a deep integration between the competition and the local cultural and tourism sectors. This encourages participants to explore, experience, and spend in Daiyue beyond the competition itself. The local government collaborated with various local businesses, including scenic spots, specialty restaurants, hotels, and cultural and tourism retail outlets, to offer exclusive discount packages for participants presenting their competition credentials, thereby lowering the barrier to local spending and stimulating consumption willingness.
