Qingdao Releases First Batch of 697 Technology-based SMEs for 2026

The Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology recently announced the city's first batch of technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for 2026, with a total of 697 SMEs included in the registry.

In recent years, the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology has gradually improved the tiered cultivation system for technology enterprises, employing various measures to support the growth and development of technology-based SMEs. It selects high-quality technology-based SMEs to nurture as high-tech enterprises, and supports these SMEs in using "innovation vouchers" to purchase R&D, inspection, and testing services, with reimbursements of up to 50% of the actual payments made. Driven by the combined incentives of multiple policies, the number of technology-based SMEs in Qingdao has continued to grow rapidly in recent years.

In accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Science and Technology, technology-based SMEs are subject to an "annual evaluation and annual registration" system. This year, Qingdao will continue to register eligible technology-based SMEs in batches.
