Three New Provincial-Level Characteristic Industrial Clusters of SMEs Recognized in Weihai, Shandong

Recently, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province announced the List of Shandong Province's Characteristic Industrial Clusters of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in 2026, recognizing a total of 36 industrial clusters. In Weihai, the characteristic industrial clusters for transportation equipment in Huancui District, new energy battery functional materials in Wendeng District, and recreational vehicles and key components in Rongcheng County-level City were selected.

In recent years, Weihai has provided tailored and classified guidance based on its industrial advantages and local conditions, continuously deepened industry-university-research cooperation in all aspects, and organized various matchmaking and exchange activities for product matching, collaborative innovation, industrial collaboration, and talent cultivation. The city has guided a large number of SMEs to explore sub-sectors and focus on collaborative innovation, breaking through the development bottlenecks of individual enterprises, while promoting the leap of characteristic industries from a single-point layout to a clustered, chain-oriented, and large-scale development.

In addition to the three newly selected provincial-level characteristic industrial clusters of SMEs, Weihai also boasts two national-level characteristic industrial clusters for SMEs: the commercial vehicle key components industrial cluster in Wendeng District and the carbon fiber industrial cluster in Huancui District.
