On July 8, the 2025 National Science and Technology Awards were announced. Shandong-led projects secured seven awards, including five second-class prizes for the State Technological Invention Award, marking a historic high for the province in the invention category. Additionally, 21 collaborative projects participated in by the province received honors. All winning achievements represent original core technologies, spanning sectors like biomedicine, high-end equipment manufacturing, and new materials, all of which were developed through collaborative research between universities and enterprises. Supported by pilot policies for science and technology award reform, Shandong will continue to strengthen breakthroughs in foundational technologies, injecting core growth drivers into industrial chain upgrading through industry-university-research collaborative innovation.
