Four Shandong-Based Companies Selected for MIIT's First Collection of Overseas Smart Factory Case Studies

At the BRICS Forum on Partnership on New Industrial Revolution held in Xiamen, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released its first collection of overseas smart factory case studies. A total of 13 benchmark projects nationwide were included, with four Shandong-based companies—Doublestar Tire, Linglong Tire, Haier Group, and Hisense Group—successfully making the list. Leveraging the province's well-developed digital infrastructure, smart manufacturing policies, and industrial support systems, these four companies are exporting mature domestic smart manufacturing technologies, management models, and standards to overseas markets. This is driving a shift in their development model from exporting individual products to rolling out comprehensive smart manufacturing solutions globally. This selection highlights Shandong's strength in smart manufacturing and provides a Chinese model for the global transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.
