A Story of Friendship, A Path to New Opportunities: Chinese and Foreign Guests Gather for China-CEEC Cooperation

On May 26, the 7th China-CEEC Local Leaders' Meeting and the 2026 Shandong International Friendship Cities Cooperation and Exchange Week opened in Jinan, with over 600 guests from 44 countries in attendance. As the Chinese chair province, Shandong recorded an import and export volume of 62.19 billion yuan with CEEC (Central and Eastern European countries) in 2025, an increase of 11%. Cooperation achievements were released at the event, covering the China-Greece Joint Laboratory for Smart Agriculture and the 1.313 billion euro expressway project in Serbia. Four new pairs of sister provinces and states were added, expanding the international circle of friends to 93 pairs of provinces and states and 681 pairs of cities, covering 109 countries.
