Recently, the world's first 120 km/h subway train equipped with a fully electric mechanical braking system was put into passenger operations in Shenzhen. The system is independently developed by CRRC Braking System Co., Ltd. in Qingdao. By replacing the traditional pneumatic mode with a direct electric drive, the system achieves fully electrified control, delivering precise responses, smooth braking, and reduced operating noise. Equipped with an intelligent health management system, it can issue early fault warnings. Having obtained the industry's highest Safety Integrity Level 4 certification, it significantly reduces operation and maintenance costs. This technology is applicable to multiple vehicle models, such as subways and electric multiple units, marking a generational leap in China's rail transit braking technology.
