Keeping firmly in mind the directive to "administer the marine economy and build maritime strength", Shandong is making every effort to establish itself as a hub for the modern marine economy. The province's gross marine product exceeded 1.9 trillion yuan in 2025, ranking second nationwide. Meanwhile, its coastal port throughput reached 2.19 billion tons, leading the country for four consecutive years. Strengthening emerging industries such as marine engineering equipment and marine biomedicine, restoring 13,400 hectares of coastal wetlands, and establishing 16 national-level "Beautiful Bays", Shandong is injecting "blue momentum" into high-quality development through integrated land-sea development, sci-tech innovation, and ecological protection.
