Shandong to Implement Major Initiatives in the Next Five Years

Recently, Shandong Province issued its 15th Five-Year Plan outline, clarifying the development blueprint for the next five years. In terms of industry, the province will cultivate trillion-yuan-level emerging pillar industries, lay out future industries such as quantum technology and brain-computer interfaces, improve industrial chain mechanisms, and nurture a large number of specialized and sophisticated enterprises that produce new and unique products. Regarding innovation, a two-way open competition mechanism will be established, aiming to achieve around 300 landmark results by the end of the 15th Five-Year Plan period. In the field of infrastructure, by 2030, the goals of "connecting every city with high‑speed rail" and "providing every county with at least two expressways" will be achieved, along with the development of a clean energy base with a capacity of over 100 million kilowatts. In the area of people's livelihoods, the province will raise the basic pension for residents, improve the housing security system, and enhance public wellbeing in all aspects.
