Recently, the Energy Administration of Shandong Province and several other departments issued the 2026 Action Plan for High-Level New Energy Consumption, introducing 22 measures across six key areas to ensure the efficient integration and utilization of new energy. The plan aims to accelerate the development of regulation capacity, including completing flexible retrofitting of over 3,000 MW of coal-fired power plants within the year and increasing new energy storage installed capacity to approximately 14,000 MW. Furthermore, it will strengthen grid support by completing a batch of ultra-high voltage and 500 kV projects, adding 10,000 kilometers of rural power lines, and expanding cross-provincial consumption of new energy. To stimulate green power consumption, the plan will also promote the integration of key loads into the public power grid and the construction of 80 new demonstration stations for EV charging and swapping.
