Shandong Wins Six Dayu Water Conservancy Science and Technology Awards

Recently, the winners of the 2025 Dayu Water Conservancy Science and Technology Awards were announced, with Shandong securing six awards. The province has achieved both an increase in the number and level of awards, marking its best performance in a decade. Among these, the project "Key Technologies and Application of Space-Air-Ground Collaborative Sensing and Early Warning and Forecasting for Extreme Floods," led by the Shandong Hydrology Center, and the project "Key Technologies and Application of Efficient Groundwater Recharge Using Rain and Floodwater," led by the Shandong Hydraulic Research Institute, won second prizes. Four other achievements received third prizes. The award-winning achievements cover key areas such as flood forecasting and warning, rainwater resource utilization, inter-basin water supply security, and water conservancy project operation and maintenance, specifically addressing critical challenges in Shandong's water conservancy development. These technologies have been promoted and applied in multiple regions, effectively enhancing capabilities in flood prevention and disaster reduction, water supply security, and water ecological protection, demonstrating Shandong's strength in water conservancy scientific and technological innovation. These awards will promote the transformation of water conservancy scientific and technological achievements, support Shandong's water network development and water conservation and control initiatives, and provide solid technical support for the province's high-quality water conservancy development.
