The 2026 Shandong Cross-Border E-commerce Development Conference was recently convened in Jinan City, drawing representatives from 18 global e-commerce giants, including Amazon, Walmart, and eBay. The conference signaled a pivotal shift: Shandong's cross-border e-commerce sector is transitioning from a period of extensive, scattershot growth to a new phase defined by meticulous, brand-driven cultivation.
Statistics underscore this momentum. In 2025, the province's B2B direct export value via cross-border e-commerce rose 7.6% year-on-year, outstripping the overall provincial trade average. A total of 22,000 enterprises, representing more than a quarter of Shandong's foreign trade enterprises that have shown impressive performance, captured new export growth through cross-border e-commerce channels. However, various market changes have brought the era of "flying blind" development to a close, marked by the United States' termination of small parcel tariff exemptions and intensifying platform competition.
