Recently, the Information Office of the People's Government of Shandong Province held a press conference to introduce the development of building a province with digital strength during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Over the past five years, guided by the initiative to build a province with digital strength, Shandong has integrally advanced digital industrialization, industrial digitization, data value realization, and the digitalization of governance and services. Shandong is accelerating the expansion of its digital industry, having established 30 digital industrial clusters. The province is home to 416,400 legal entities in the core digital economy, ranking third in China.
The development of smart cities is progressing in tandem with the upgrading of the digital economy. Shandong is deeply advancing the construction of new-type smart cities and promoting city-wide digital transformation. All 16 of its cities have established their "City Brains" and been included in the Top 100 Digital Cities list, ranking first in China by number of digital cities. The province has established a total of 6 national-level pilot digital villages and 96 provincial-level pilots for digital village construction.
