The first China (Shandong)-SCO Countries Roundtable to Promote Local Economic and Trade Cooperation was held at the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area (SCODA) in Qingdao. The event aims to practice the guiding principles of the SCO Tianjin Summit and the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO CHG), and to implement the outcomes of the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference and the Qingdao Initiative.
Officials from the Ministry of Commerce and relevant departments of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, as well as provinces such as Zhejiang and Shandong attended the event, as did their counterparts from relevant national ministries, local governments, and economic parks in six SCO countries—Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
During the event, Shandong signed memorandums on economic and trade cooperation with the Naryn Region of Kyrgyzstan, the Department of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Fergana Region of Uzbekistan, and the Economic Department of the Mogilev Region of Belarus.
