New energy products have become the main export driver for Zhongtong Bus, successfully entering high-end international markets such as Singapore, Dubai, Portugal, and Denmark, and steadily building a refreshed brand image of Chinese smart manufacturing. In recent years, Liaocheng has actively integrated into Shandong's new energy vehicle industry plan, injecting new momentum into the sector's development across the province.

Shandong places a high priority on the new energy vehicle industry and regards it as a key pillar for driving the shift from old to new growth drivers and achieving the dual carbon goals of peaking emissions and reaching carbon neutrality. At present, Shandong's new energy vehicle industry has taken shape with Jinan, Qingdao, and Yantai as its core and cities such as Zibo, Weifang, and Liaocheng working in coordination. It spans the entire value chain—from complete vehicle manufacturing and core components to hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and supporting infrastructure—and is developing in a cluster-based pattern.
