Recently, the Chinese Academy of Sciences officially launched its "Burning Plasma" international scientific program and, for the first time, introduced the compact fusion experimental device—Burning Plasma Experimental Superconducting Tokamak (BEST) research program to the global fusion community. Shandong Taikai DC Technology Co., Ltd., located in Tai'an, has secured the contract for the supply of quench protection switchgear for the power system of the Compact Fusion Energy Experimental Device at Fusion Energy Technology Co., Ltd, providing key switchgear for the BEST research program.

As the next-generation "artificial sun", BEST is the world's first compact fusion energy experimental device and carries the critical mission of achieving plasma "burning". According to the research program, once completed, the device will conduct deuterium-tritium burning plasma experiments to demonstrate sustained long-pulse operation. The goal is to achieve fusion power output between 20 and 200 megawatts, enabling fusion power generation with energy output surpassing energy input.
