Shandong Has Issued an Action Plan for Accelerating the High-Quality Development of the Coal Mining Sector Empowered by AI

Recently, Shandong issued the Action Plan for Accelerating the High-Quality Development of the Coal Mining Sector Empowered by AI, which clarifies that by 2026, the construction of artificial intelligence (AI) scenarios in key areas of provincial and major municipal coal mines shall be completed to form a regional demonstration effect. It also clearly states that by 2027, the goal of achieving full coverage of AI scenarios in coal mines across the province and having intelligent coal mining output account for more than 95% shall be achieved.

Focusing on the core demands of intelligent transformation, the Plan focuses on intelligent development and clearly takes "replacing workers with mechanization, reducing workers with automation, and achieving unmanned operation with intelligence" as the core orientation. Focusing on the basic support of AI, it is proposed to build a full-chain support system of "dedicated network + computing facilities + industry data sets + vertical large models" to achieve centralized management and control of AI systems for coal mines across the province.
