Shandong: Energy Transition Grows Greener and More Resilient

Recently, a press conference was held by the Information Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government. Since the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Shandong has balanced energy supply security, green transition, and reform and innovation, accelerating the construction of a green and low-carbon energy transition demonstration area. Anchored to the "dual carbon" strategic goals, Shandong has integrated efforts to advance the diversified development of clean energy sources including nuclear, wind, solar, and geothermal power.

Over the past five years, Shandong has leveraged key reforms to stimulate vitality in the energy market, with traded electricity accounting for 51% of the total electricity consumption in society. The province took the lead in introducing and successfully implementing a market-oriented reform plan for new energy feed-in tariffs, exploring and establishing the "Shandong Solution" for the comprehensive integration of new energy into the market.

In recent years, annual investment in energy sector projects has consistently exceeded 200 billion yuan, providing strong support for stabilizing investment and growth. The province continues to promote fair and open access to energy infrastructure for private enterprises, making the private economy an indispensable force in the energy transition.
