Shandong Issues Several Measures to Support Technological Innovation in Private Enterprises

Shandong recently issued the Several Measures to Support Technological Innovation in Private Enterprises. Drawing on the experience and practices of advanced provinces and cities, and based on an in-depth understanding of the bottlenecks and policy demands in the technological innovation of private enterprises, the document introduces 19 practical measures. These aim to enhance the technological innovation capabilities of private enterprises, develop new quality productive forces according to local conditions, and empower the high-quality development of the private economy.

The measures support private enterprises in undertaking major scientific and technological tasks. They encourage private enterprises to strengthen frontier basic research and collaborate with the Shandong Natural Science Foundation to establish joint funds. Private enterprises are also supported in carrying out key technology research to overcome "bottleneck" technical challenges in industries.

Capable private enterprises are supported in taking the lead in undertaking national key scientific and technological research tasks. The measures also back the establishment of major innovation platforms by private enterprises. For those platforms upgraded to national level without requiring matching national funds, a funding support of 10 million yuan will be provided in accordance with regulations.
