Qingdao and Yantai Selected Among China's First Batch of High-Quality Outdoor Sports Destinations

Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments announced the first list of regions designated as high-quality outdoor sports destinations. Among them, Qingdao's marine outdoor sports destination and Yantai's mountain-and-sea outdoor sports destination were successfully selected.

Qingdao will build a comprehensive marine outdoor sports ecosystem, forming a multi-sport integrated development pattern focused on coastal activities supplemented by land sports. Leveraging its advantages in marine sports, the city will vigorously develop beach volleyball, beach soccer, and other activities, while planning and constructing a number of high-standard sailing bases. This will establish a marine sports system encompassing sailing, rowing, kayaking, and more.

Yantai will use the national high-quality outdoor sports destination initiative as a key driver to continuously activate its sports culture and ecological assets. This will make outdoor sports a new engine for promoting green and low-carbon development and a new vehicle for enhancing public well-being.
