1,334 Post-doctoral Research Platforms in Shandong Recruit 22,000+ Post-doctoral Fellows

In recent years, Shandong has vigorously implemented the strategy of empowering the province through talent, positioning post-doctoral fellows as a strategic resource. It has built a full-chain policy system encompassing personnel, platforms, funds, and projects, ensuring policies to cover all stages—attraction, training, retention, employment, and service. This has resulted in the formation of a team of high-level, innovative young post-doctoral professionals.

To attract outstanding post-doctoral researchers to work and start businesses in Shandong, the province took the national lead in establishing provincial-level post-doctoral science funds, creating a funding system that combines universal support with targeted assistance. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, 285 new professionals were selected, and 1,288 innovative projects received funding.

Shandong has adopted multiple measures to encourage post-doctoral fellows' efforts in innovation and creation, ranging from building platforms and providing financial support to offering thoughtful services. Currently, the province has 1,334 post-doctoral research platforms, has recruited over 22,000 post-doctoral fellows, and has achieved more than 53.5 billion yuan in benefits from the commercialization of research results.
