In recent years, Shandong has carried out a series of active explorations and practices centered on deepening cooperation with multinational companies and jointly building a symbiotic and win-win industrial ecosystem, taking multiple measures to create a first-class industrial ecosystem for a broad range of multinational companies.

Since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan, Shandong has adhered to two-way opening up, building an industrial ecological community both domestically and internationally. It not only opened its doors to attracting foreign investment but also joined hands with multinational companies to go global, while promoting the deep integration of international cooperation in industrial and supply chains. In terms of attracting foreign investment, 236 Fortune Global 500 enterprises have invested in 946 projects in the province, forming a number of industrial clusters in high-end manufacturing, modern services, and green and low-carbon sectors.

Moreover, Shandong is accelerating the cultivation of local multinational companies and promoting enterprises to fully leverage both domestic and international markets and resources. By the end of 2024, more than 2,700 Shandong enterprises had made multinational investments overseas.
