Shandong's New Materials Industry Continues to Grow, Maintaining an Average Annual Growth Rate of Approximately 6.6% Since the 14th Five-Year Plan

Recently, the Information Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government held a press conference on "Shandong's Renowned Brands in the Industrial Chain", focusing on the new materials industry chain. It was reported that by 2024, the operating revenue of the new energy and new materials industry in the province has surpassed 1.6 trillion yuan, maintaining an average annual growth rate of about 6.6% since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan.

In particular, in the field of functional composite materials, industry leaders like Guangwei Composites, Taishan Fiberglass, Tayho, and ZHmag, as well as "chain owner" enterprises, have become a solid foundation for industrial development. Six projects have been selected for the national new materials initiative, achieving significant results in addressing "bottleneck" issues and enhancing industry competitiveness. The province has nurtured seven provincial-level advanced manufacturing clusters and 22 provincial-level characteristic industry clusters, with four clusters, including Weihai's carbon fiber, being recognized as national-level characteristic industry clusters. The cluster effect of Shandong's new materials industry is accelerating.
