The List of Zero-Carbon Zones to Be Built in Shandong Province Released

The Shandong Development and Reform Commission, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province, and the Energy Administration of Shandong Province recently jointly announced the list of zero-carbon zones to be built in Shandong Province. A total of 18 parks are incorporated, such as the CATL Jining New Energy Industrial Zones .

As the first batch of provincial-level zero-carbon parks to be established in Shandong, the construction and implementation of these parks will accumulate experience for the development of the new energy industry in the province. Before the end of 2026, relevant provincial departments will organize a mid-term evaluation and conduct acceptance checks before the end of 2027. The parks that pass the acceptance will be officially announced as zero-carbon parks in Shandong.

According to the Development Plan for Zero-Carbon Parks in Shandong, Shandong will promote the construction of zero-carbon parks across the province. By 2030, a number of provincial-level zero-carbon parks will be built, and relevant technical equipment, policies and systems, and supporting services will be enhanced, playing a key role in stabilizing and reducing carbon emissions after they reach a peak.
