Shandong's Lithium-Ion Battery Production Increased by 48.4% in the First 8 Months of 2025

Recently, the New Energy Battery Industry Chain Supply and Demand Matchmaking Event (Jining Special) in Shandong Province was hosted by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province and the Jining Municipal People's Government. It is reported that from January to August this year, the output of lithium-ion battery products in the province increased by 48.4%.

The new energy battery industrial chain, classified among the 19 flagship industrial chains prioritized by the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and the Shandong Provincial People's Government, has become a critical driver for the province's green, low-carbon, and high-quality development. At present, the province has established a comprehensive industrial framework encompassing battery production, essential materials, and fundamental resources. Several major projects of leading enterprises, such as CATL, BYD, Sunwoda and Gotion High-tech, have been successively implemented in Shandong, driving the lithium-ion battery industry in the province into a period of accelerated development. In the past three years, the average annual growth rate of the province's lithium-ion battery industry revenue has exceeded 20%.
