A Maximum Subsidy of 5 Million Yuan for Establishing R&D Headquarters and R&D Center in Shandong

Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province and 19 other departments jointly issued Several Measures on Supporting High-quality Development of Sci-Tech Services Sector to promote the deep integration of sci-tech and industrial innovation while boosting new quality productive forces according to local conditions.

The authorities will enhance the innovation capability improvement program for technology-based SMEs and introduce a dedicated section for sci-tech services. By focusing on subfields and unoccupied and emerging areas, the province will target attracting sci-tech service providers and enterprises with high industrial chain compatibility, strong innovation attributes, and significant growth potential.

To bolster the establishment of R&D headquarters, R&D centers, and branches in Shandong by Fortune Global 500 companies and leading enterprises from outside the province, Shandong will grant eligible enterprises a maximum subsidy of 5 million yuan per year based on their annual R&D investment.

Moreover, Shandong will support the expansion and strengthening of sci-tech services, such as marine services in Qingdao, oil and gas engineering survey and design in Dongying, and agricultural technology promotion in Weifang, aiming to foster a number of sci-tech service industry clusters with core competitiveness.
