China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Center to be Established in Shandong

Recently, the "Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus" meeting was held in Tianjin. During the meeting, it was announced that China will establish three major cooperation platforms focused on energy, green industry, and digital economy, as well as three cooperation centers for science and technology innovation, higher education, and vocational education. The China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Center will be located in Shandong, within the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area.

The establishment of this center aims to leverage Shandong's resources while extending its influence nationwide, creating an internationally significant platform for science and technology innovation cooperation and promoting the development of a high-level open innovation ecosystem. The center will adhere to the principles of "government guidance, market leadership", "serving the overall situation while advancing in a coordinated manner", "demand-driven and application-oriented", and "aligning with international standards while optimizing the ecosystem". It is committed to expanding international science and technology exchange and cooperation and building mutually beneficial international partnerships in science and technology.
