Shandong to Focus on the Expansion of Emerging Markets: Thoroughly Implementing Initiatives for the International Market Development

As a major industrial province, Shandong has long held an advantage in foreign trade through the export of its manufacturing products. However, the global manufacturing landscape has been undergoing a significant transformation in recent years. For Shandong's manufacturing, it is necessary to steadfastly pursue independent innovation to ascend to the pinnacle of the global manufacturing value chain.

Expanding emerging markets to mitigate trade risks has become a consensus among all foreign trade enterprises. From January to July 2025, Shandong's trade volume with Belt and Road Initiative participating countries reached 1.31 trillion yuan, marking a 10.3% increase and comprising 64.3% of the total. Its growth rate surpassed the national average, underscoring the province's achievements in expanding emerging markets and stabilizing foreign trade.

Since the beginning of 2025, Shandong Province has concentrated on exploring emerging markets by thoroughly implementing the international market development initiative "Internationalization of over 10,000 Enterprises, Shandong Trade Global". In the first half of the year, commerce departments across the province organized participation of over 6,100 enterprises in more than 200 domestic and international exhibitions while hosting 32 targeted procurement matchmaking events, thereby facilitating enterprises' expansion into international markets.
