Focusing on 19 Representative Industrial Chains, Shandong Shapes New Growth Drivers for Industrial Development

By concentrating on 19 representative industrial chains, Shandong Province has further advanced the "chain chief system", propelling the deep integration of industrial, supply, and innovation chains. In the first half of 2025, the value-added in sectors covered in these representative industrial chains, including automobiles, railways and ships, and electronics, recorded increase rates of 16.2%, 21.1%, and 21.9%, respectively. 

It is learned that the 19 representative industrial chains encompass various fields, such as artificial intelligence, new energy equipment, modern pharmaceuticals, and textiles and apparel. The number of enterprises included in the chains exceeds 36,000, accounting for more than 90% of the provincial total.

Targeting these representative industrial chains, Shandong Province has introduced over 20 supportive policies for artificial intelligence, innovative applications of metaverse, smart connected vehicle development, and pharmaceutical quality enhancements. Additionally, it launched the Ten Chains, One Hundred Clusters, and Ten Thousand Enterprises Action Plan on integrating and strengthening industrial chains, upgrading key ones, and supporting more SMEs to secure positions within the industrial chains.
