Dongying Accelerates the Vision of a "Zero Carbon" Future

Recently, the Dongying CATL Zero Carbon Industrial Park, located in the Kenli District, officially launched. This is the first industrial park in China to be powered entirely by 100% green electricity. It marks a significant milestone for Dongying in its efforts to accelerate industrial transformation, energy transition, and green low-carbon development, as well as to establish a national modern energy economy demonstration zone.

The project is invested by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), and the core project is a 40GWh green lithium battery manufacturing base, which is expected to be completed and put into operation next year. It is projected to achieve an annual output value of 26 billion yuan and generate 1.2 billion yuan in tax revenue.

In recent years, Dongying City has focused on green low-carbon transformation, continuously promoting the high-quality development of renewable energy. The growth rates of both installed capacity and electricity generation from renewable sources are among the highest in the province, leading to a continuous optimization of the energy structure. As of now, the city’s renewable energy installed capacity stands at 9,882.4 MW, accounting for 67% of the total installed electricity capacity in the city.
