The Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province recently announced the list of advanced manufacturing industry clusters for 2025, designating 13 clusters, including the Jinan-Dezhou-Tai'an Safety Emergency Equipment Cluster.

The 13 provincial advanced manufacturing industry clusters cover cutting-edge fields such as safety emergency equipment, artificial intelligence, biomedicine, and high-end sports equipment. This announcement demonstrates Shandong's manufacturing sector's shift away from traditional path dependency toward accelerated transformation in high-end, clustered, and integrated directions.

The Jinan and Dezhou region focuses on safety emergency equipment and integrated circuits, while Qingdao is seizing opportunities in the artificial intelligence sector. Zibo is delving into fine chemicals and new polymer materials, and Dongying is developing high-end green rubber based on its rubber industry foundation. Yantai is leveraging research resources from the Shandong Aerospace Electro-technology Institute to build an aerospace cluster, and Linyi is capitalizing on its agricultural product advantages to focus on the health food sector.
