Rizhao, Shandong: "Leapfrog Growth" of Emerging Industries and an Upward Trend in the Industrial Economy

Since the beginning of this year, Rizhao has improved mechanisms such as municipal leadership supervision and sector-specific operations for economic performance. Additionally, the city has strengthened the major role of enterprises in sci-tech innovation and fostered the "leapfrog growth" of emerging industries alongside the "groundbreaking renewal" of traditional industries, thus accumulating new momentum for the high-quality development of Rizhao's industrial economy.

From January to May, Rizhao's total profits of industrial enterprises above the designated size grew by over two times, ranking first in the province regarding the growth rate. The added value of industrial enterprises above the designated size increased by 8.1%, ranking fourth in the province in terms of the growth rate. Industrial investment and manufacturing investment rose by 34.4% and 38.5%, respectively.

Subsequently, Rizhao will continue to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, reinforce the development of advantageous sectors, and actively build a gradient cultivation system for high-quality enterprises. Furthermore, the city will deepen special actions to integrate and consolidate representative industrial chains and create a community for the integration and consolidation of industrial chains to bolster industrial economic growth.
