The Qingdao Municipal People's Government recently released the Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Comprehensive Green Transformation of Economic and Social Development in Qingdao, proposing that by 2035, a green, low-carbon, and circular economic development system will be essentially established.
Qingdao plans to advance its construction as a national carbon-peaking pilot city and deepen integrated regional pilot projects for establishing green, low-carbon, and high-quality development zones within five districts ( cities) of Shandong Province: Laoshan District, West Coast New Area, Chengyang District, Jimo District, and Jiaozhou City.
Meanwhile, Qingdao will expedite the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries while fostering and developing green and low-carbon industries. The city will thoroughly implement the "Empowering Qingdao through Industry" initiative and continuously promote the construction of digital transformation empowerment centers for key industries. By the end of 2025, around 30 such centers will be established. Annually, it will continuously advance over 500 technological renovation projects. By the end of 2030, it aims to newly cultivate about 100 green factories, green supply chain management enterprises, and similar entities, with the energy conservation and environmental protection industry maintaining an average annual growth rate of at least 10%.
