The Information Office of Shandong Provincial People's Government recently held a press conference to introduce the province's plan for building an "aviation city". Shandong is now home to more than 1,400 commercial unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) enterprises, ranking third in China.
Guided by the principle of "promoting production through application and invigorating industries through application", Shandong Province has selected 30 exemplary low-altitude application scenarios spanning over 10 fields, including culture, tourism, logistics, express delivery, medical services, and maritime patrols.
Cities such as Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Weifang, Weihai, Rizhao, and Binzhou are leveraging their industrial foundations and local strengths to accelerate the development of distinctive low-altitude manufacturing and service zones. For instance, the Jinan Low-altitude Industry Demonstration Base is building an integrated "general aviation and retrofitting" industrial zone capable of supporting unmanned aviation testing and aviation emergency rescue. The UAV Industrial Park of Binzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone has attracted leading companies such as Nanjing Changkong Technology Co., Ltd. and JOUAV, aiming to become a hub for industrial UAV manufacturing and a demonstration zone for low-altitude flight management and application.
