Jinxiang County, Shandong: Garlic Trade Linking Over 170 Economies Worldwide

Recently, the 2025 China Garlic & Jinxiang Garlic Industry High-quality Development Conference on "Garlic Chain" Innovation was held successfully. From a modest county in southwestern Shandong to over 170 countries and regions worldwide, how did this small clove of garlic achieve such extensive reach?

Concentrating on enhancing and extending the garlic industry chain, Jinxiang County has attracted over 70 renowned domestic and international enterprises, including Fortune Global 500 companies such as Singapore-based Olam, US-based Harmoni, and Beijing-based Sunlon. The county has fostered 102 leading agricultural industrialization enterprises recognized at the municipal level or above, processing over 3 million tons of garlic annually with an agricultural product conversion rate of 82%. It has developed nine series and 105 high-value-added deep-processed products, including allicin capsules, fermented black garlic, and alliin oral liquid, catering to consumer demands for health-focused food items.

Currently, Jinxiang County boasts over 900 enterprises with independent import and export rights and more than 80 cross-border e-commerce operators. It has also established seven overseas warehouses, with products exported to over 170 countries and regions worldwide.
