Construction of China's First 200TEU All-Electric Intelligent Remote-Controlled Container Vessel

Recently, the construction of China's first 200TEU all-electric intelligent remote-controlled container vessel began at a shipyard in Wuhan. It is reported that the vessel will operate on the route connecting the Dagang Port Area and Qianwan Port Area of Qingdao Port, Shandong Port, by 2026, with plans to gradually extend service to Dongjiakou, Rizhao, and other surrounding ports in the province. Following the construction, Shandong Port will focus on building China's first coastal intelligent transport fleet.

As the first commercially operated all-electric intelligent vessel in China, it is entirely designed using comprehensive digital technologies, featuring remote control, autonomous navigation, independent decision-making, intelligent diagnostics, and other functions. Notably, it will technically meet the International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards for net-zero emissions of vessels. After being put into operation on Jiaozhou Bay, it is expected to reduce the annual exhaust emissions by 1,645 tons, equivalent to those of 60,000 ordinary trucks, thus building a demonstration full-process intelligent zero-carbon transportation scenario that combines terminal, shipping, and warehousing.
