Shandong: The Scale of the Water Conservation Industry Is Projected to Reach RMB 100 Billion by 2027

Recently, eight departments, including the Water Resources Department of Shandong Province, jointly issued the Development Plan for the Water Conservation Industry in Shandong Province. The Plan outlines that by 2027, the scale of the province's water conservation industry will reach RMB 100 billion, more than 10 characteristic and advantageous water conservation industry clusters (parks) will be established, more than 2 national or provincial water conservation technological innovation platforms will be cultivated, and the pilot zone for high-quality development of the water conservation industry in the Yellow River Basin will be built; By 2035, the scale of the province's water conservation industry will double, and more than five characteristic and advantageous water conservation industry clusters with a scale of RMB 10 billion will be developed.

Jinan and Qingdao should cultivate a group of leading enterprises and industrial clusters with leading and driving effects; Areas along the Yellow River should prioritize agricultural water conservation and efficiency and focus on water conservation irrigation equipment, water pipe manufacturing and smart irrigation services; Coastal areas should leverage abundant seawater resources to advance seawater desalination R&D, equipment manufacturing, and integrated seawater utilization across the industrial chain.
