Weihai, Shandong Accelerates the Advancement of Its Industrial Economy's "Top Project"

In recent years, Weihai has taken actions to enhance the capabilities of industrial clusters, aiming to expand and strengthen eight major industrial clusters and build a modern industrial system with distinct Weihai characteristics.

Weihai will focus on five areas: promoting stable industrial growth, developing advantageous industries, advancing industrial innovation, deepening the integration of digital and physical realms, and enhancing transformation advantages, in order to drive rapid progress and simultaneous improvements in both quantity and quality of the industrial economy.

In terms of promoting industrial innovation, Weihai focuses on cutting-edge technologies in new materials such as carbon fiber, enhancing the one enterprise, one technology (R&D) capabilities and service standards of pilot test platforms. It accelerates the construction of four provincial-level manufacturing innovation centers for cultivation purposes, including one for marine pre-made dishes. Additionally, it provides guidance on the establishment of provincial and municipal "one enterprise, one technology" R&D centers based on the core technology needs of enterprises. Weihai regularly organizes enterprises to submit core technology research needs and actively connects with innovative resources from universities and research institutions, implementing around 180 provincial-level enterprise technology innovation projects according to high standards.
