Shandong Releases Action Plan for Sci-Tech Innovation in Brain-Computer Interface Industry

Recently, 13 departments including the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province issued the Action Plan for Sci-Tech Innovation in Brain-Computer Interface Industry in Shandong Province (2025-2027), deploying six major actions and 16 specific tasks to promote the innovative development of the industry.

According to the Action Plan, by 2027, Shandong Province will break through about 20 basic frontier and key core technologies in this field, cultivate about 30 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises with strong independent innovation capabilities, introduce and cultivate 2-3 high-level talent teams, build 1-2 professional incubation parks based on areas rich in scientific and educational resources, and promote the application of innovative brain-computer interface technologies and products in medical and health care, industry, education, and entertainment. Aiming at the frontiers of brain science and neuroscience, the province will support qualified leading BCI enterprises, universities, research institutes, etc. to build "special zones for basic research" on BCI, set up joint funds, and collaboratively carry out basic research.
