Shandong Empowers Audio-Visual Industry Through High-Tech Innovation

Recently, the Information Office of the Shandong People’s Government of Shandong Province held a press conference to detail the province’s efforts in deepening technological innovation and accelerating the development of a new structure for its audio-visual industry.

According to investigations, Shandong’s audio-visual industry generated total revenues of approximately 130 billion yuan in 2024, marking a year-on-year increase of about 11.6% and maintaining a sustained positive growth trajectory. Currently, the province is intensifying the application of generative AI, virtual digital humans, and intelligent audio-visual production technologies, with high-tech innovations continuously enhancing content creation and production. Film and television production companies are leveraging advanced technologies such as UHD, AI, AR/VR, and 3D for innovative expression.

To advance key areas like AI, HD displays, and VR, Shandong has organized and implemented over 10 major technological innovation projects and technology demonstration projects, supported by provincial fiscal funding exceeding 400 million yuan. The province’s broadcasting, television, and online audio-visual sectors have now entered a more sophisticated phase of integrated development characterized by “culture + technology + industry” synergies, delivering higher efficiency and enhanced performance.
